Paragliding in the Pirin Mountains

Bulgaria offers excellent facilities for learning and practicing paragliding on Mt Vitosha which lies at a very close distance to Sophia. The Shiligarnika piste has also been used - with convenient take off points at the top. Various landing sites are available. The most convenient being by the bottom chairlift station. An alternative landing site tried by a visiting Russian group - high up in a fir tree - was tried and discounted as being too inconvenient and dangerous!
