15 day Pirin and Rila mountain treks
These are the highest mountains in Southern Central Europe with summits
reaching almost 3000m. Wilderness, forests, lakes, monasteries, old towns and
villages, where old local traditions have survived to the present day, are
linked by thousands of kilometers of good paths served with mountain lodges. In
towns we generally use the best hotels - four star, offering high quality
accommodation, good foods and a variety of facilities including indoor swimming
pools, saunas etc.

These programmes are designed for a quick, budget break to Bansko. Three
longer, guided walking days are planned into the Pirin Mountains. The programme
is flexible and more days could be arranged. We recommend two hotels in Bansko
- the very modern Pirin offers 4 star luxury - a massage parlour, swimming
pool, sauna, steam room, solarium, fitness centre, bar, cafe and restaurant.
All rooms have en-suite facilities, telephone, fridge and satellite television.
The 3 star Georgi Hotel is much simpler and has a very friendly atmosphere and
a real Bulgarian character. The rooms offer the same facilities as those of the
Pirin. If you stay here it is still possible to benefit fom the Pirin Hotel

| Day 1 | Fly in the morning from London Gatwick to Sofia, transfer to Bansko in time for
the evening meal. | | Days 2 - 7 | Three major walks are planned: - Walking tour of Bansko town visiting several places of historical interest.
Lunch . Drive to the Pirin mountains. Walking tour through magnificent forests
rich in flowers. Start from Belite Chuchore and pass through Konarevo, Julen,
Todorova Ornica then drive back to the hotel in Bansko.
- Transfer to Vihren hut. Walking tour to Vihren, 2915m, the highest point in the
Pirin Mountains. Return via Vlahini lakes, Muratovo lake, to Vihren hut. Drive
back to Bansko.
- Transfer to Shiligarnika. Walking tour through wonderful forests leading to
Karkamski lakes, Todorini Ochi lakes, Vasilashki lakes and Demianica hut along
the Todorova Ornica river. Drive back to the hotel.
