Nasrudin or Nasruddin Hoja (the wise fool) often called Mullah Nasrudin is a legendary figure in Central Asian folklore. Stories abound about him from Afghanistan to Turkey. One story relates to advice given by him as to how a well should be constructed - Nasrudin said: Dig a deep hole then build a minaret in it upside down.
