Algeria, the second largest country in Africa boasts some of Africa's most magnificent scenery. The great expanses of the Sahara desert contain a surprising range of landscapes: great seas of sand dunes, mazes of rocky pinnacles, ancient cave art, colourful Tuareg nomads, oasis, flowers and the occasionally snow-capped Hoggar mountains. In the north green hills and Mediterranean coastline also contain some magnificent Roman / Berber ruins.
After a years of turmoil fighting French then pro-Islamic factions the country has enjoyed peace in the 21st Century and is rapidly catching up on the lost years. With its plentiful oil and mineral wealth and stable political atmosphere the economy is growing rapidly.

Our trips are based on daily flights available to Djanet or Tamanrasset from Algiers or Paris. The main types of trip are:

  • 4x4 journeys with the option of trekking several hours a day.
  • 4x4 supported trekking.
  • Camel supported trekking - with possible opportunities to ride a camel.
  • Mule supported trekking.
  • Camel treks - where it is possible to ride camels throughout.
