|Algeria, the second largest country in Africa boasts some of Africa's most
magnificent scenery. The great expanses of the Sahara desert contain a surprising range of landscapes: great seas of sand dunes, mazes of rocky
pinnacles, ancient cave art, colourful Tuareg nomads, oasis, flowers and the occasionally snow-capped Hoggar mountains. In the north green hills and
Mediterranean coastline also contain some magnificent Roman / Berber ruins.|
After a years of turmoil fighting French then pro-Islamic factions the country
has enjoyed peace in the 21st Century and is rapidly catching up on the lost years. With its plentiful oil and mineral wealth and stable political
atmosphere the economy is growing rapidly.
