Angra Hotel is located in the centre of historical town of Angra do Heroismo on the island of Terceira in the Azores. The town was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983 soon after it was badly damaged by an earthquake. The town has been magnificently restored to its former state as the original capital of the Azores. The hotel looks over the town square in one direction and over the beautiful public gardens in the other. There are 120 rooms at the hotel, all have air conditioning, a bathroom with hair drier, a telephone and cable television. The Angra Hotel also has a restaurant, banqueting hall, bar, lounge and conference room. The Health Club has a gym, sauna, Turkish bath, jacuzzi and indoor swimming pool. There is a golf course about 10 km away from the hotel and Lajes Airport may be reached in 15 minutes by taxi. The hotel provides an excellent base to explore Angra do Heroismo with its many beautiful old buildings, the harbour, fortress and Monte Brazil.
