Sao Jorge Hotel

 
The Sao Jorge Hotel is located by the sea in the small town of Velas on the south coast of Sao Jorge Island in the Azores.

The hotel overlooks its swimming pool immediately beyond which lies the ocean and a panorama of Pico Island with Pico summit. The hotel has beautiful gardens and two tennis courts. There is a luxurious living room with television and video, a bar and terrace facing the islands of Pico and Faial.

There is no restaurant in the hotel but several excellent restaurants can be reached in the heart of Velas just a few minutes walk away. There is also an airy breakfast room that opens out onto the swimming pool, gardens and sea. All rooms have air conditioning, television, bath and shower room with hair drier. There is a safe available at the reception.

The hotel provides a free transfer service to the ferry port and airport. The port may also be reached in just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The airport lies 7 kilometers away and can be reached in about 10 minutes by car.

There is only a very limited bus service on the island but taxis are quite cheap and there is a rent a car service available at the hotel.
