From our base hotel near Moshi we are able to organise daily departures for groups of any size.
All of our treks on Mt Kilimanjaro are run by Zara Tours – one of the longest standing and top operators in Northern Tanzania. Your safety and comfort on the trek is of paramount importance to both EWP and Zara, so every step is made to ensure that your experience on Mount Kilimanjaro is one that will fulfil your dreams and be the creation of life-long memories.
Many travellers are attracted to the highest point in Africa, and one of the world’s ‘7 Summits’. The main Uhuru peak of Kilimajaro reaches a height of 5963m and can be reached by any one of the 5 main routes that we offer on the mountain – Lemosho, Machame, Marangu, Rongai and Umbwe.
Most fit individuals with some mountain walking experience can make it to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro. You do not need to be super fit – just take it slowly (pole-pole the guide will say) and be determined. ZARA is one of the top Kilimanjaro operators with an excellent reputation and a very high success rate. But success depends mainly on you – it is up to you to make some important choices; in particular which route you ascend and for how many days. If you have little previous mountain walking and camping experience and are not sure of your fitness then go for the Marangu Route (entirely hut based) and make sure you have at least one acclimatisation day at Horombo Hut or that you have acclimatised on Mt Meru or Mt Kenya or elsewhere previously. Please read the route descriptions carefully and if necessary discuss your choice with us.
REMEMBER – All of our treks can be combined with any or all of the following trips – Mt Meru trek, Safari, Zanzibar or other destinations in East Africa. Click on your Route Option for further information.
