Scottish winter climbing is a unique combination of style of climbing, variable conditions and weather and spectacular scenery all within reach from a warm hotel in town! The demands are very high on your skill, stamina and equipment, and therefore the rewards are equally high. Scottish winter climbing is pure adventure! From snowed-up rock climbs to water-ice and thin face snow-ice climbs or a mixed climb with a bit of everything, it's all within reach from Fort William.
For personal guiding by the day on Scotland's classic climbs (e.g. Tower Ridge, Point Five Gully, Orion Direct), two or five day winter climbing courses if you are just starting out in winter, wanting the skills to take you to the next grade or learning to lead please use the table below for prices. An insructor to participant ratio of 1:2 is ideal for winter climbing enabling all grades to be tackled and instruction on leading, a ratio of 1:3 is possible but will reduce the number of climbs open to us as feasable objectives.
