Winter Mountaincraft in Scotland

Introduction | Winter Mountaincraft | Rock Climbing | Scrambling | Skye | Summer Mountaincraft | Winter Climbing | Accommodation | Home

For summer hillwalkers this course will give you all the skills needed to operate in winter including snowcraft and ice-axe use, avalanche awareness, navigation and emergency response. One or two day refresher courses for those with winter experience are an excellent way to start your winter season's walking, making sure all your skills are up to date as they will need to be. Winter hillwalking is particularly demanding and requires good fitness, equipment and determination to enjoy the hill even in poor weather.

For personal guiding on Munro's (Scotland's 3000' hills) by the day, two day introduction courses or five day winter mountaincraft courses please use the table below for prices. A group of 4 to 6 is ideal for hillwalking.
