Tamarind Hotel The hotel is 45 kms from Stone Town on a good tarmac road, just north of
Chwake on the central east coast of the island. The hotel is ideal for families
and for anyone wishing to relax in a quiet, friendly atmosphere. The site is
airy and spacious. Accommodation is in well-spaced 2 roomed chalets. All the
rooms have fans, ensuite facilties, terraces with easy chairs and most have a
sunroof. Sunbeds are under shady trees on and above a long stretch of sandy
beach. There is a bar and restaurant with a separate lounge. The food at the
Tamarind is good but if you would like a change there are several restaurants
nearby. A variety of activities may be organised from the hotel including: town tour,
spice tour, biking, fishing, swimming, snorkelling, boat trips, diving and
swimming with dolphins.
