Comments on Web Page Design Styles
The text above "Comments on Web Page Design" might appear lime coloured in a red frame. Above it you see a transparent table with on the left an image, in the centre a black text block. To the right is an animated image.
This marquee is in a green box and bounces - does it on your browser?
All these features add to the interest and appearance of your page but not all browsers can see them. Adding many of these more advanced features to your page could be a major drawback for people with a less advanced browser, or a browser set for, say, text only. Similar arguments apply to Javascript - the idea here is to make pages that interact with the user - the pages come alive . . . . or do they? Often script conflicts affect the final results so although some browsers read the javascript, others can lock. Here is an example - try stroking the Yen gif with your mouse - it should change. If it is clicked a new window opens with more exciting java animations.
You must decide how many, and which, of these features you wish to use.
You may wish to download a newer browser: MICROSOFT or NETSCAPE - it will probably cope with some new features but not others. There is no browser that can cope with everything because the field is expanding all the time with different companies developing different ideas.
